Dr. Pan Music Academy is located at 1045 E. Las Tunas Dr. in San Gabriel. We are located close to both the 210 and 10 freeways, as well as next to the complex where 168 Market is located. We are an easy reach from San Marino, Arcadia, Temple City, Rosemead, Alhambra, South Pasadena, and Pasadena.
The academy also has a gated, secure parking area.

We cater to each student's specific needs, whether it be preparing for an exam, a competition, or simply learning music for fun.
Our experienced teaching staff are qualified to prepare students for various exams, including a Certificate of Merit in California, an ABRSM Exam, a National Piano Guild Audition, or an AP Music Theory Exam.

Dr. Penny Pan, Director | Piano & Theory
Dr. Penny Pan received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Southern California, and her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Claremont Graduate University. She has been on the piano faculty at California State University, Los Angeles since 2001, and has over 17 years of teaching experience. Dr. Pan is also currently serving as the Vice President, Student Programs for the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT).
Maxine Liu | Piano
Ms. Liu graduated with a Bachelor degree in Music Performance from California State University, Northridge. She teaches all ages, and specializes in preparing students for their Certificate of Merit in California, and National Piano Guild auditions.
Jean Lee | Violin
Ms. Lee obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. Ms. Lee teaches students of all ages and levels, and also coaches students to prepare them for school orchestra auditions. Currently Ms. Lee serves as violin sectionals coach for the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Michelle Hamano | Piano
Ms. Hamano is currently working on her Bachelor degree in Music Education in California State University, Fullerton. Ms. Hamano specializes in teaching beginning young students.
Erik Babaians | Music Theory
Mr. Babaians received his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from California State University, Los Angeles. Mr. Babaians specializes in teaching music theory in a most organized and memorable fashion. He has been composing music and writing songs since the early age of 11, and has been teaching piano, music theory and composition since 2005.
Rhonda Chuang | Piano
Ms. Chuang graduated with a Bachelor degree in Piano Performance from California State University, Northridge, and has been teaching since 2003. Ms. Chuang teaches all ages and all levels. She also specializes in preparing students for their Certificate of Merit exam.
Mia Chen | Viola / Violin / Piano
Ms. Chen received her Bachelor's degree in viola performance from Taipei Municipal University of Education, with the piano as her second instrument. She specializes in teaching both viola and piano at all ages and levels.
Yong Ruan | Violin
Ms. Yong Ruan, native of Shanghai China, has 30 years of teaching experience. Ms. Ruan specializes in teaching group violin classes for 4-6 year olds, as well as training students for exams and orchestra auditions.
Tamano Pan | Voice
Mrs. Pan received both her Bachelor and Master degrees from Azusa Pacific University in Vocal Performance. She has performed at various places, and has recorded several CDs since 2003 as a vocal duo with her twin sister. It is her pleasure to pass on to students the joy of singing that she has experienced throughout her whole life.
April Mendiola | Voice
Ms. April Mendiola is currently working on her BM in Music Education at California State University, Fullerton. She specializes in both Classical and Broadway vocal repertoire with all ages and all levels.
Cameron Miller | Drums & Percussion
Mr. Miller is currently attending Cal State Los Angeles pursuing a Bachelor degree in Music Education. Mr. Miller teaches all ages and all levels. He also teaches a percussion class at Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate School in Whittier, and is the Drumline Instructor at Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate School, La Habra High School, and Bell Gardens High School.
Dr. Caster Teoh | Trumpet
Dr. Teoh received a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trumpet Performance from the USC Thornton School of Music. Dr. Teoh specializes in teaching all ages and levels, and preparing students for school orchestra auditions. Aside from being a music educator, Dr. Teoh has served as Music Director of the Youth Symphony West Orchestra, an orchestra under the Los Angeles Philharmonic umbrella.
Aaron Kaplan | Saxophone & Clarinet
Aaron Kaplan received his M.A in Music from UC Riverside and wrote a thesis on the Los Angeles jazz scene. He teaches saxophone through the advanced level, clarinet through the intermediate level, and beginning piano. He teaches all styles but specializes in jazz and improvisation.
